JayQuan has been active as an Emcee and Dj / producer since the early eighties, when the first rap records were created. Throughout the years he has released material with the Too Def Crew, The First Sons and as a solo artist.  In the mid 80s Jay got into producing and he has worked with drum machines as far back as the Boss Dr Rhythm and Roland 808/909 up through the Ensoniq Eps/Asr & Akai MPC series. JayQuan is an avid record collector of all genres of music, as he started collecting records at just nine years old. He has been lucky enough to interview and record with some of the true pioneers of Hip Hop music, and his website thafoundation.com is a testament to his love of the culture. Since releasing his first record back in the late 80s JayQuan has been a student of the music business.  He has his own publishing company, and has released music under his own J.A.H. Music label. In his spare time he educates artists about royalties, how to set up a label and things of that nature.
